Here is what I found interesting the last week or so about intranet, digital workplaces, SharePoint, Office 365, internal communication, enterprise search, usability and the future.
This week: I presented our survey results at smilelondon (video), bad user experience is no good idea, communities of practice is good but leaders only know 50%, it is still a secret that good enterprise search requires manpower and not fancy technology alone, 31 books about internal communication, an engaged employee experience starts with the employee life cycle and digital transformation with a digital data architecture.
And 95% of the program for IntraTeam Event Copenhagen is uploaded. Sign up before Dec. 16 and save a ton of money. Also good discounts for your colleagues - so bring the whole team.
Think of your digital workplace as an ecommerce platform. Amazon becomes successful by embarking on a program of continual improvement — regularly tweaking its site, functionality and features in line with the evolving needs of customers.
Nowadays, many companies address the obvious limitations and shortcomings of their formal structures and processes by embracing a more loosely tightened type of organizational structures based on ‘Communities of Expertise’ or ‘Communities of Practice’.
Most of these communities will fail on their purpose.
